verbatim.id transcribes Bahasa Indonesia audio. The app itself is currently in Indonesian.
Transcription for Bahasa Indonesia audio

Indonesian recordings into verbatim transcripts you can verify.

Upload an interview, focus group, meeting, or podcast recorded in Bahasa Indonesia. Get a Clean or word-for-word Verbatim transcript with timestamps and speaker labels. Words the engine is unsure about are flagged, so you check those instead of rereading everything.

Simulated demo with an Indonesian interview. The app interface is in Indonesian.

Who it is for

Built for qualitative research, useful well beyond it.

Anywhere a conversation in Bahasa Indonesia has to become text you can quote.

Thesis interviews

Word-for-word transcripts for appendices and qualitative analysis, in the word-for-word format Indonesian theses commonly use.

Research and focus groups

In-depth interviews and FGDs with speakers separated automatically, and sessions that hold several recordings.

Meetings and minutes

A two-hour meeting becomes a tidy transcript, grouped by topic, that shows who spoke and when.

Podcasts and content

Record once, then reuse the text for articles, show notes, or subtitles.

Journalism

Source quotes with timestamps, easy to check against the audio before publishing.

UX and market research

User interviews and focus groups turned into quotable text, with timestamps to check against the audio.

Two outputs, one source

Clean when you need to read it. Verbatim when every word counts.

Many tools tidy speech until the details disappear. Here you choose: tidied up, or exactly as spoken. Both come from the same transcript, so names and terms stay consistent.

Clean ready to read
[00:00:11] · Sari Wulandari

Baik. Nama saya Sari Wulandari, saya dosen di program studi Komunikasi sudah sekitar dua belas tahun, dan melihat ada pergeseran yang cukup besar dalam lima tahun terakhir.

“Right. My name is Sari Wulandari. I have been a lecturer in Communication for about twelve years, and I have seen a big shift over the last five years.”

Fillers, false starts, and repetitions removed. For minutes, articles, summaries, and show notes.
Verbatim as spoken
[00:00:11] · Sari Wulandari

Iya iya, baik. Nama saya Sari Wulandari, eee… saya dosen di program studi Komunikasi [jeda 2 detik] sudah sekitar dua belas tahun.

The same answer with the fillers (“iya iya”, “eee”) and a timed pause ([jeda 2 detik], a 2-second pause) kept in.

Exactly as spoken. For theses, qualitative research, and interview analysis.

Sample from an Indonesian interview, with an English gloss. Timestamps and speaker labels come with both outputs.

Why verbatim.id

Check the transcript, then show that you did.

verbatim.id is built for transcripts that get attached to a thesis or a report and need to hold up when someone checks them.

Flagged words, one tap to check

Words the engine is unsure about are highlighted. Tap one to hear that moment of the recording, then accept or correct it. Alt+↓ jumps to the next flagged word.

Transcript Verification Report

A free PDF with a QR code that shows how many of the flagged words were checked against the audio. An examiner can scan it, see whether the transcript stored on verbatim.id has changed since the report was issued, and match the recording file without uploading it. The score measures how complete the review was, not accuracy.

Speakers and timestamps

Speakers are separated and labelled automatically. Split a turn at the exact word where the speaker changes, merge turns, rename a speaker everywhere at once, and reset a timestamp from the audio position.

Standard or Presisi

Verbatim Standard is set to Bahasa Indonesia and open to everyone. Verbatim Presisi, available with a paid package, runs two engines that cross-check each other, flags the words they hear differently, and detects the language automatically, which suits recordings that mix Indonesian and English.

Review at typing speed

Playback from 0.5× to 2×, skip 5 seconds back or forward, and shortcuts that work while you type. Search and replace across the transcript. Changes save automatically, on a laptop or in a phone browser.

Projects, sessions, sharing

Group work into projects and sessions; one session can hold several recordings on a single timeline. Share a read-only link, with an optional password, or invite people to a project as Viewer or Editor.

Exports

The PDF transcript and the Verification Report are free. Paid packages add DOCX (a Time / Speaker / Text table that fits a thesis appendix), SRT subtitles, and plain TXT.

FAQ

Questions people usually ask.

Which languages can it transcribe?
verbatim.id is built for Bahasa Indonesia audio. Verbatim Standard is set to Indonesian. Verbatim Presisi detects the language automatically, so it suits recordings that mix Indonesian and English. The service is not designed for English-only recordings, and there is no dedicated support for regional languages.
Is the app available in English?
Not yet. The app interface is in Indonesian. This English site is an overview of the product.
What is the difference between Clean and Verbatim?
Clean gives you tidied text: fillers such as “eee” or “iya iya”, repeated words, and false starts are removed, which suits minutes and articles. Verbatim keeps everything as spoken, including fillers, repetitions, and pauses marked as [jeda 3 detik] (a 3-second pause). It is the format used for theses, qualitative research, and interview analysis.
How good are the results?
It depends heavily on the recording. Clear audio with few speakers usually comes out cleanest, while background noise, overlapping voices, or heavy use of a regional language bring the quality down. Words the engine is less sure about are flagged so you can check and fix them. We do not publish accuracy figures.
Is the verification score an accuracy score?
No. It is the share of words that either had high engine confidence or were checked by a person against the audio. It shows how complete the review was, not how accurate the transcript is.
How are recordings stored?
Recordings are stored in your account so you can replay them in the editor and match them against a Verification Report. You can delete them at any time, and any report that covers a deleted recording stops being valid. Connections to verbatim.id use HTTPS, and verbatim.id does not train its own AI models.
Is it a subscription?
No. You buy a number of minutes once and use them until they run out or the package expires. Nothing renews automatically and nothing is charged to a card or e-wallet later.
